Who We Are

Marton Pharmacy, established in 1961 by Frank Maguire, is a family run business in Marton, Middlesbrough. Frank’s son, Michael, qualified as a Pharmacist in 1989 and has built on the foundations created by Frank, driving Marton Pharmacy from strength to strength. In 2005, Michael appointed his niece Michelle Myers, Frank’s granddaughter, as Practice Manager, and shortly afterwards they relocated Marton Pharmacy to purpose built premises, a short distance from the original Pharmacy at the Marton Shopping Parade.

The newly relocated Marton Pharmacy consisted of the Pharmacy, and treatment rooms, which became rebranded as The Therapy Centre @ Marton Pharmacy. As Michael was quoted at the time, “One of the problems with innovation is that it sometimes takes a while for everyone to catch up with your thinking”. However, whilst remaining true to its family values, Marton Pharmacy & The Therapy Centre soon established itself as one of the leading Pharmacies in the UK, punching well above its weight. A string of National and Local Awards soon followed, both for Michael and the Pharmacy itself. In 2009, Michael won the much coveted UK Community Pharmacist of the Year Award at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Marton Pharmacy & The Therapy Centre continues to fulfil its Vision of becoming the best Pharmacy in the UK. The team at Marton Pharmacy & The Therapy Centre love making a real difference to people’s lives, and the health and wellbeing of the local community is the main focus and priority. The whole team believe in the quality of both the services and premises, and constantly strive to be the pharmacy that is recognised for delivering outcomes to patients. The Healthy Living Pharmacy Campaigns at Marton Pharmacy & The Therapy Centre are becoming legendary, and have received national recognition from the Director of Health and Wellbeing for Public Health England, that this is the future of Community Pharmacy.
